www.annaevely.com CITY BASE: London OTHER: Aberdeen I am director of project MAYA, which means I have a wonderful job working with the most inspiring group of people! I spend my time on research, campaigning and running non profit environmental projects as well as empowering other people to 'be the change'. I am an interdisciplinary eco researcher/campaigner/entrepeneur. I work with the Sustainable Learning project and am an associate of the Aberdeen Centre for Environmental Sustainability. Much of my spare time is spent indulging my passion for permaculture and finding new and better ways to be self sufficient and to share those means with others through workshops, presentations or online via my twitter page @AnnaEvely AREA OF SPECIALISM: Permaculture, knowledge integration, knowledge exchange, social learning, adaptation/behaviour change, participation, well-being, cross-disciplinarity, conflict management, resilience, teaching for sustainability, use of web 2.0. technology SPECIFIC RESEARCH SKILLS: NVivo v 8; R’, SPSS v.16, Programme Distance, Arc Info 9.1., TABLEFIT, Species Diversity and Richness, structured and semi-structured Interviews, participant observation, questionnaires, questionnaire design, action research, trained in vegetation, hedgerow, bat, bird, amphibian and mammal survey techniques, Phase 1 habitat surveying, NVC criteria. SPECIFIC MAYA SKILLS: working with communities to help establish local conservation, environmental and food growing initiatives (including vertical gardening and urban permaculture/agriculture); facilitating joint ventures; facilitating/chairing local group meetings or events; creating connections between local groups; developing, implementing and evaluating programs; undertaking qualitative/quantitative research; training/implementing use of web 2.0. applications; writing/editing; assistance in grant writing;- presentations on complexity, resilience, conservation, participation, permaculture, climate change, and sustainability ; owning and managing Maya Project land in urban and peri-urban areas.
