I am an Environmental Scientist interested in sustainability and conservation. However, in later years my research and professional life has been focused in Marine Biology, specifically in cetacean (dolphin) biology. I completed an European PhD in ecology in 2010 (University of Vigo, Spain) addressing general aspects of the ecology of the bottlenose dolphin, Tursiops truncatus, in Galicia, NW Spain. I am currently an honorary member of staff at Aberdeen University (UK) and I work as freelance environmental consultant within Europe (e.g. UK, Spain, Portugal) in projects related to the management and distribution of cetaceans and other wildlife populations (e.g. birds, invertebrates). I have been actively involved with Spanish conservation NGOs since 2001 (i.e. www.cemma.org) and I have a deep interest in environmental education and local community projects.
