Inigo is researcher focusing particularly on marine ecology including fisheries science and marine protected areas (MPAs). He studied a BSc in Environmental Science, a MSc in Zoology and Biology of Organisms and completed a PhD in Marine Ecology at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland). During his research appointments at ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) and Marine Scotland Science, Inigo gained an extensive knowledge of the challenges of todays fisheries and developed skills in the exciting role of coordinating the efforts and agendas of different countries and stakeholders and balancing the ecological, economical and social challenges to provide a solid, transparent and scientific based advice to fisheries management.
